El Gizawy discusses ways of research cooperation with the University of Illinois in the United States of America
Date: 24-09-2020

Dr. Nasser El Gizawy, Vice President of Benha University, received Dr. Nahed Ismail, Professor at the University of Illinois in Chicago in the United States of America and Director of the Medical Microbiology Laboratory to discuss ways of cooperation through granting research projects announced by the National Institute of Health (NIH) in America in the field of the intestinal microbiome and its relationship with diseases of fatty liver and pancreas
El Gizawy pointed out that the intestinal microbiome is important in diagnosing and treating steatosis and treating it through knowing the shape and quality of the intestinal microbiome, which helps prevent the transformation of hepatic lipidosis into hepatic carcinomas, noting that hepatic lipidosis is closely related to the occurrence of hardening of the arteries of the heart, which leads to death. The expected results of the research project will prevent these complications.
This came in the presence of the members of the research team, Dr. Reda Al-Badawi, Professor at the College of Human Medicine, and Dr. Medhat Refaat, Vice-Dean of the College of Human Medicine for Postgraduate Studies and Research
